Furniture Home Tips :: Cheap Desks Cheap Desks: Choosing Cheap, But High-Quality Desks
Custom Search
Cheap desks don’t have to be low-quality desks. And who decided that rolling chairs and big, heavy metal desks were the peak of office décor? You can have a new desk that’s not only modern and stylish, but also well-made and affordable, including cheap computer desks. These days, cheap desks are widely available and sold with a wide range of features including funky storage compartments, cool colors and contemporary shapes. For a list of some of the best cheap desks available from some of the biggest budget brands (CB2, Target, Wal-Mart, Ikea, etc), keep reading. The Madison Trestle Desk ($160 - $239) The Madison trestle desk is available from Target and retails for $239.99, though it’s been spotted on sale for as little as $160 (making it one of our best “cheap desks” finds). This affordable desk features a generous desktop surface supported by very cool A-frame legs. The open shelves and distressed look give it a rugged feel, making this a perfect fit for a shabby-chic or funky cottage décor. The Stockholm Desk ($135 and lower) Sold at Wal-Mart, the Stockholm desk is perfect for anyone going for that mid-century, 60s mod look. This cheap desk, inspired by Swedish design, is both minimal and stylish. It features lots of storage compartments and a great use of color. The best parts are the funky, orange compartments on the side which are perfect for storing loose papers and other in-box items. The Graph Desk ($299) The Graph Desk is available from CB2 for just $299. Right now, it only comes in white, but the minimalist color gives it a cool and contemporary look. What really sets this affordable desk apart is its massive 60-by-30-inch tabletop surface. Combine that with a double set of metal drawers with shelf space and you have a great, cheap desk. The Parsons Desk ($299) Sold by West Elm, the Parsons Desk is a basic, but functional staple. The desk features clean, straight lines and a solid wood construction. There’s no shelf space, but it does come with two slim drawers that are accessible from the front. This modern basic comes in bronze, silver, black, white and (my favorite) chocolate. The Galant System Desk ($99-$399) Designed and sold by Ikea, the Galant System Desk is actually multiple configurations of the same desk. Basically, you choose the Galant legs that you want along with the table top you want and assemble at will. Admittedly, these cheap desks typically don’t come with storage space, but you can easily add on with additional file carts or rolling storage stations. Remember, cheap desks don’t have to be ugly or poorly made. You can find some great deals on office furniture that will not only last for at least a few years, but will look great doing it too. Just keep an eye out for sales, don’t be afraid to try budget brands and always be willing to take a shopping risk. All Site Articles for Furniture Home Tips
