Small computer desk units are a necessity for any college student's room or dorm.
Everybody needs an organized workspace to function their best when it comes to getting work or studying done, but not everybody has room for a home office or a large work area, so a small computer desk can be a great solution.
Closet Space as Office Space
One easy solution to a small space is using your closet space as alternative office space.
By tucking a small computer desk into your closet space and installing shelving above it, you can take that space from somewhere you would hang clothes to somewhere you can store files and do work, but close off at the end of your workday.
By using a stool with your small computer desk instead of a seat, you can just shove the stool under the desk and close the door, effectively "leaving" your office for the day.
Flexible Seating
If you don't want to use a stool as a seat with your small computer desk, that's understandable. If you are spending your day sitting at a computer, you might want something more comfortable, like an ergonomic chair or an armchair.
You can always take existing seating in your living room or bedroom and then just put it back to its original position when you're done with your work.
Then again, you can simply close the door to your office closet at the end of the day without needing to find someone to put an extra work chair.
Notebook Desks
A notebook desk is a small computer desk that is designed specifically for use with a notebook computer. These desks don't have platforms for the tower that a desktop computer does, so they can be made relatively small.
Computer desks for desktop computers can sometimes be overwhelming pieces of furniture and can really dominate the space they are in. If you have a notebook computer, you just don't need that type of furniture around.
Non-Traditional Choices
If you don't like the designs of any of the notebook desks that you find at office supply stores, you can always get something a little less traditional, like an end table or a sofa table and use one of those as a small computer desk.
They are smaller pieces of furniture, but often come with drawers for storage and are the perfect size for a notebook computer.
Sofa tables often have enough room underneath for comfortable seating, too. So they are a great choice for a small computer desk.
